Sheath and Handle Material: Nickel/Silver. This is a pair of vintage 8.5 nickel/silver Argentina gaucho boot knives with very ornate sheaths. The Facon (or gaucho knife) is a tool made by the old gauchos, originally from the Argentine pampas. Besides being a cutting element and a working tool, they were used to kill animals, cut thongs and do leather working, utility work, etc. These boot knives were also.
Used as hidden protection in the event the Gaucho ran into trouble. This is a pair of very ornate Argentina Gaucho Boot Knives with Sheaths They have a very sharp 5 INOX Stainless Steel sharp Pointed Blade. The Blade has an etched scene of cowboys herding Cattle.
The Handles have a raised Design showing Cowboys herding their cattle. The Sheaths have an ornate raised scene of Cowboys with wagon and a team of oxen. As well as a Clip for fixing the knife to a boot or belt. The clips are designed with a bolo and a horse shoe for luck. These are superb Collectible Knives in very good condition with modest wear.
Condition - Sheaths and handles are Very Good in what appears to be lightly used Condition. The sheaths and handles appear to be silver plated judging by the tarnish. The blades have modest wear with some light scratches.
