Unusual Pair Large Vintage Mid Century Modern Hanging Planters Brushed Aluminum

  

A Very Unique Pair of Mid Century Modern Hanging Planters. These planters were acquired from a home in Upstate NY. Each planter has a simple and refined half-globe shape with three cables for hanging attached via brackets inside the planter. The exteriors have a brushed finish.

I believe the plastic coated cables are original as is the hanging Loop at the top of each. Each measures 16" in diameter at the top and approximately 8" at its deepest. The appear to be constructed of solid aluminum. Very Good condition with no breaks, dents or other structural issues.

The interiors show evidence of having held dirt and plants for 40+ years. The exteriors are bright with an excellent sheen but do show imperfections/scratching from use. Could be refinished if desired. A seldom seen form of Mid Century Hanging planter and even more scarce as a matched pair!
