Vtg Pair 1981 Chrome & Gold Murray Baja 10 Speed Mountain/bmx Bike Bicycle Mtb

  

PAIR OF ORIGINAL 1981 MURRAY BAJA BIKES! That's right, 2 Baja's! Both have stickers that say they were made in May of 1981. There are some differences-the hand brakes are different and the seats, which could be original or replacements-not sure.

Both still have, what I believe to be, the original Carlisle knobby tires with some tines still showing! Tires were flat when I found these bikes-I added air slowly and all four tires seem to be holding. The tire rubber isn't cracked and looks pretty solid.

The gold alloy parts (rims, hubs, crank cover, brakes) are mostly in good condition showing only some light scratches and black marks here and there. The chrome frame and some chrome parts do have a bit of rust spots, but it all looks superficial and should polish up nicely.

One handlebar feels a bit bent when I rode the bike. You can't really see a bend, it just fels off a bit (just on the one). The brakes need adjusted a bit and one bike doesn't drop down to the lowest gear-simple adjustment I'm sure.

Decals have a few scratches but are mostly intact. Just some cool vintage bikes for the right collector(s)! I will drop off at Ernie's for you. These are also for sale locally.
