Pair Vintage German Sterling Silver Double Candlesticks
Presented is a handsome pair of sterling silver candlesticks or candelabra made during the late 1920s or early 1930s by Gottlieb Kurz. This early 20th century pair is in a classic form, with simple, flowing designs. The pieces are hollow, with no filler to add weight to the pieces, there is only a metal disc attached to the bottom for weighting. Both candlesticks are marked with the German crown and crescent moon, 925 for sterling silver purity and a maker's mark for Gottlieb Kurz. This pair is in great overall condition. There are some repairs along some of the seams where the arms meet the body, but they are very well done and are only really noticeable upon inspection. There are a couple of small dings to one candlestick's bowls in which the candles are held. There are no other damages, no monograms, and no monogram removals.
Each candelabra measures 10 1/2 inches wide and is 7 1/4 inches tall. The combined weight of the pair, most of which is silver weight, is 761.3 grams or 26.8 ounces.
