PAIR VINTAGE KIRK REPOUSSE STERLING SILVER 8 3-LITE CANDELABRA, 1815 grams

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous pair of Kirk Sterling Silver "Repousse" 8 3-lite candelabra/candlesticks with beautiful repousse floral design. Measure 8" high and 12" overall width with a 4 1/3" diameter base with a 1" top opening. Combined weight is 1815 grams or 4 pounds. These lovely candlesticks are decorated with an all-over chased floral design on the top part of the base and around the bobeche of each candle opening. The two side candle holders are attached to the end of a twisted arm on the top section which can be removed, if desired, to use the candle holder bases as single candle holders.

The silver has nice original patina. Candlesticks are weighted for stability. Both candlesticks are in excellent Estate condition with no damage or noted flaws other than possible faint signs of normal wear.

Kirk & Son made its debut in 1828 making it the oldest Sterling Silver pattern produced in the United States where its remained to this day as one of the most popular patterns ever created. To create this pattern, the Philadelphia trained silversmith Samuel Kirk revived an ancient technique known as "repousse" to create an embossed design that is both versatile and instantly recognized.
