Presented is a wonderful pair of sterling silver, gemstone and enamel inlay earrings. The earrings were made by Navajo jewelry artist, Fred Maloney, who is widely known for this type of inlay design. The earrings are oval in form, with panels of Morenci turquoise, purple, dark blue, and light blue enamel or perhaps very smooth stone, it is hard to say. The combination of the colors and the contrast between the lovely veining of black matrix in the turquoise with the uniformity of the other color panels, make this a very striking and stylish pair of earrings.
These earrings have clip style backs, for wear with unpierced or pierced ears. These earrings are stamped and guaranteed sterling as well as a maker's mark for Fred Maloney. This pair of earrings is in excellent condition. The clipbacks have a good strong spring mechanism.
The inlay is all intact. Each earring measures about 1 1/8 inches by 7/8 of an inch. The total weight for the pair is 17.9 grams.
