This vintage pair of S. KIRK&SON STERLING candlesticks was left behind by my in-laws when they passed.
Mom-in-law had extensive silver collection. It is believed these were a wedding gift in the early 50s. I decided to check the internet first. If this is the case, it means it has more layers of silver. Like the others I've seen, these also use another metal inside as a rod into the cement inside. Other than in the shaft, where a magnet may stick (due to the metal inside), magnets will not stick to any other part of the metal. Kirk&Son became Kirk Steiff in 1979, I believe. Regardless of the metal, these are in very good condition.Note the texture around the design and even inside the larger flower (see close-up photo). Each candlestick is about 4 1/4" wide x 4 5/8" tall, weight (shown in grams) is 1lb 3.3oz. You'll not be disappointed.
