This is a fully stamped " Aspery London " fully and extensively hallmarked pair of rococo - baroque wall sconces, used as an award in 1963, but I was told by the company the design dates to the 1950s. They measure 9 1/2 inches north to south X.
9 9/10 inches east to west X. One weighs in at 932 grams, the other at 994 grams. Aggregate weight is 67.93 ounces, or 1926 grams, about 4 1/3 pounds.Highly and extensively decorated with feathers, turtles, a ram, roses, swags, and a leafy garland like surround. These sconces are guaranteed very fine condition. There is engraving on the inner panel, "The Accountant Annual Award 1963 Fisons Limited" on both.
Our consulting bench jeweler has advised that the engraving could be buffed out completely. A beautiful, valuable pair of sconces from a venerable maker. I had a difficult time researching these, but I was able to locate another pair online - they were called "Elizabeth II" which I imagine refers to the era they were made.
