This is a fantastic butterfly wing picture from England, probably made during the 1920 era, featuring what looks to be a colonial couple dancing. There is some handpainting, and the outfits and the sky are the most wonderful butterfly wings. It is my understanding the butterflies lived for one day and the wings were harvested but they weren't hurt because they were already gone. This was mostly done in Brazil if I'm correct. This pin measures just under 1 1/2 in diameter.
The face of the pin is glass with no scratches or problems. There is a little design around the edge of the silver. On the back there are a few signs of use on the silver. Please see additional description above - it's really a very lovely piece. I have rarely seen one in this good condition.
