Vintage Pair of Sterling Silver Candlesticks (7 ½) Hallmarked 1977

These chunky candlesticks are made from sterling silver although the bases and stems have been filled which is quite normal. They are a copy of a Georgian design with fixed sconces, knops to the sconce cups and stems and scooped circular bases. They are of plain form with the exception of reeded decoration around the sconces and top of the bases.

The undersides are covered with a black leatherette material. Both sticks are hallmarked for London 1977 with the maker's mark of John Henry Odell (although his marks are poorly struck). These sticks will accommodate candlesticks measuring up to 1.9 cm (¾) in diameter. These sticks are in beautiful condition and both stand nice and vertical without a wobble. There is no noticeable damage to either stick although there are one or two pinhead dints on each.
