These candlesticks were part of an appraisal report done for us in 2002. The description of them in this report reads; " Early Victorian, this 11" pair are round based, with extensive chasing and fluting on base and ribbed stems. Made in Sheffield, England, circa 1840, good condition, makers mark unreadable, but Lion passant, crown, monarch, and date hallmarks evident on base.
They have been lightly polished, but there is some tarnish in the low spots and wax buildup at the top. The wood bases are a little uneven so they can wobble if you push on them.
