Pair of Vintage hallmarked Sterling Silver 8 (20cm) Candlesticks 1970

Vintage Pair of Sterling Silver Candlesticks. These impressive candlesticks are made from sterling silver (filled to provide weight and stability). They have reeded decoration around the sconces, knops and bases,, he stems narrow to the middle and the bases are covered with green baize. The sconces arent removable and will hold candles measuring up to 1.9cm (3/4) in diameter.

Both sticks are hallmarked to the bases for Birmingham 1970 with the makers mark of Broadway & Co. These sticks are in lovely condition and stand nice and vertical but, as with anything that is 47 years old, there are a few things to bring to your attention. Around the outer edge of one sticks sconce, there are a couple of tiny dints which are barely noticeable. The lower stem of one has a slightly raised ridge running part way around but, again, barely noticeable. The foot of one stick is in very good condition with no dents or dints to the top and just a few tiny dints around the edge and one 5mm long bruise along the bottom edge which is barely visible due to its position.

The other foot has suffered a few knocks over the years. There are five small dents to the top and a light 10mm long line bruise. All are evident but small. There are also a number of tiny dints around the edge of the foot. Please be aware that, after all this time, there will be tiny surface abrasions caused through use. The baize to the undersides of the bases is secure with no wear but there is quite a lot of staining on both. All aspects are shown in the photos and reflected in the asking price for these candlesticks.
