PAIR VTG Machine Age Deco Chrome Sconces w/Uranium Slip Shades c. These chrome sconces date to the mid-1930s and are an example of the integration of machine age influence in Art Deco design of the period. They have been restored and refurbished and are in excellent working order. All exterior metal components have bee professionally re-plated with triple chrome finish.
Original bakelite sockets have been replaced with new like kind. All other wiring has been replaced with new.
The uranium/vaseline glass slip shades. Are in near excellent condition with typical rough edges at top and bottom openings.One shade has a couple minor fleabits on the top edge (see final photo). These sconces utilize standard US medium base light bulbs (not included). Approximate dimensions are as follows. Back plate: 3-3/4Wide X 5-1/4High X 1/2Deep.
Depth from wall with shade: 6-1/2. Depth from wall without shade: 4-34. Shade (excluding fitter stem): 5-1/2W X 3-1/4H. Unfortunately, as is often the case with period lighting, there were no makers marks or other evidence which might provide an indication of specific provenance.
