Offered for sale are a pair of vintage sterling silver cup holders. I believe them to date from the early decades of the 1900s.They are in good condition for their age, with no dents or major defects. They are each some 2-1/2 inches in diameter and about 4 inches tall. Each item also weighs 2.5 standard ounces, or 70 grams. That's 5 regular ounces or 140 grams for the pair together (which is as sensitive as my scale is, anyway, so they might honestly weigh slightly more or less). There is also some kind of a maker's mark stamped into the bottom rim of each item, but it's graphical and I don't really know how to read that or recognize what it says. The word "Sterling" and the designation "A7378" are, however, clearly readable. Because these cup holders have been in my family for decades (belonged to my grandmother), I can say with certainty that they're not modern reproductions, but rather are authentic period items. And as there is no particular sentimental value tied up in these cup holders, I don't mind parting with them. It's as simple as that. What you see in the photos is exactly what you'll get.
