NOTE: These are priced as a pair. These vintage theatre sconces date to the mid 1930's and are truly commercial grade fixtures, made of heavy cast iron with aluminum shade inserts. Inside each shade rests a curved reflecting shield which directs light outward in addition to upward.
The result is a broad source of light. Theses sconce have been restored and refurbished and are in excellent working order.The cast iron fixture bodies have been professionally triple chrome plated. The aluminum shades have been machine polished. Original porcelain mogul base sockets and medium base reducers have been retained and bulb contacts have been cleaned and polished. Original rotary toggle switches have been retained. All other wiring has been refurbished with new. These sconces utilize medium base Edison light bulbs, however, the reducer can be easily removed for mogul base bulbs. Light bulbs are not included. Approximate dimensions are as follows. Backplate: 4-1/2" Wide X 9-1/2" High X 4 Deep. Fixture with shade: 9" Wide X 9-1/2" High X 9-1/2 Deep. Shade (excluding fitter): 9" Wide X 7-1/2" High. Unfortunately, as is often the case with period lighting, there were no makers marks or other evidence which might provide an indication of specific provenance.
