Originally bare cast metal with conduit pipe connection at the bottom, they have been modified, restored and refurbished for contemporary use. A finial has been fabricated to cover the conduit openings while also accentuating the fixture's design. One fixture had a side switch which has been covered with a chrome cap (see photo #8).
The sconce bodies have been professionally chrome plated. New porcelain sockets and wiring have been installed.
These sconces utilize standard medium base Edison light bulbs (not included). Approximate dimensions are as follows. Back plate (excluding arm): 6H X 4.5W. Total length to bottom of finial: 9.5. Depth from wall with shade: 7.5. Depth from wall without shade: 5. Shade (excluding fitter): 5.5W X 2.5. Both sconces show significant blistering of the chrome plate finish (refer to final two photos). This was unfortunately unavoidable due to the nature of the underlying metal and the extreme voltage necessary for plating.General and critical photos have been provided and are a part of the description for this offering. Unfortunately, as is often the case with period lighting, there were no makers marks or other evidence which might provide an indication of specific provenance.
