Vintage Italian 800 Silver & Turquoise Enamel Courting Couple Compact

  

An exquisite vintage Italy 800 silver compact, with a gold wash and enamel courting couple on cover depicting beautiful detailed and colorful scene of a young man presenting a bird cage and little white bird to a pretty young lady while a spaniel and a sheep look on at their feet. The compact has lovely scalloped shape edges and intricate scrolled etching. Good vintage condition, the enamel is in tact, there is some tarnish, light surface scratching and the mirror inside is loose. It measures approximately 3 square. There is a gold wash on the interior.

The opening and closing mechanism is also a little loose. There is some powder reside inside. Stamped inside on bottom 800 and another mark unidentified.
