Vintage Pair Gorham #749 Chantilly Duchess Sterling Candleholder MID Century

  

Very nice matched pair of Vintage Gorham Sterling Silver Console Candleholders. Nicely preserved pieces made in the nicely detailed Chantilly pattern.

Each piece is marked Sterling and 749 along with the Gorham company symbol (on the bottom). I would consider them as very good to excellent vintage condition. No significant dents, cracks or gouges noted and with only minor surface blemishes from vintage use.

See photos with pencil pointing to a minor blemish on each candlestick One also has a scratched area on the bottow near the inscription - see photos for detail. I have lightly polished these pieces to highlight the relief. No monograms or engraving was emplaced on either piece.

Each candleholder measures about 5" height x 4-3/8" diameter. Very nice heavy grade of Sterling. Total weight for the pair is 728 grams.

Note that these are factory weighted for stability. As such, the net Sterling silver weight determination is not possible. Please view photos carefully as they best represent the condition and character of the piece.
