Vintage pair of silver plated Corinthian column candlesticks by Francis Howard

  
A vintage pair of the ever-popular Corinthian column candlesticks. Made in the mid 20th Century by Francis Howard, these candlesticks are of good weight (2kg combined). Attractively styled in the Neoclassical manner, they have square stepped plinths with beaded detail, supporting typical reeded Corinthian columns, topped with traditional capitals. The bobeches / nozzles (wax drip trays) are removable. The candlesticks have green felt bases.

Generally they are in excellent condition without the often-found badly dented plinth edges. They have been recently professionally cleaned and have new felt bases.

The silver plate is in fine condition with no loss. The removable bobeches have some minor scratches and the green felt plinth coverings are new replacements. Please note that my overall condition report grade is however downgraded from excellent to fair due to one of the candlesticks having a noticeably leaning column - please see the last image of the individual candlestick.

Height: 20.180 cm (7.945). Base width: 9.026 cm (3.553). Sconce internal diameter 2.269 cm (0.893).
