Vintage Revere Art Deco Salt Pepper Shaker Set Lescaze Rare Chase Era 1930s

  

Very scarce and collectible set of "Duet" salt/pepper shakers designed by William Lescaze for Revere's gift line in the 1930s. Lescaze was a prominent American architect and industrial designer.

He is ranked among the pioneers of modernism in American architecture however he also created a few everyday items such as these modernist salt & pepper shakers. These are semi-oval in shape and made of aluminum with a satin finish. The black bakelite sliders move to the open and closed positions for easy filling. A good example of these can be found in "American Modern" by J.

Considered an important design in its time, many of these did not endure over the years due to oxidation when used. This pair however is in very nice condition. There is some minor surface wear to the aluminum including a shallow crease just below the "P" however no other issues.

They measure 2" long across the bottom and 1 3/4" tall.
